Our Story

Who We Are?
Sanaa Foundation is a Delhi-based charitable trust committed to enhancing the dignity, health, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life of senior citizens. We work to ensure that ageing is accompanied by care, respect, relevance, and a continued sense of purpose.
Sanaa Foundation is the social impact arm of BankersKlub, supported by a strong network of 2000+ retired banking professionals (60+ years of age). This collective experience forms the backbone of our work, allowing us to combine compassion with capability to serve senior citizens and communities meaningfully.
Make A Difference Today
The Need for Sanaa Foundation
There is a poignant story from the Solomon Islands about how a tree is made to die. It is not cut down or harmed directly. Instead, people stop speaking to it, ignore its presence, and withdraw the care it needs to survive. Over time, the tree withers—not from violence, but from neglect.
This story mirrors the reality faced by many senior citizens today. As societies move faster, elders are often overlooked, unheard, and disconnected from the care, respect, and engagement they deserve. Their decline is rarely sudden; it happens quietly, through indifference and isolation.
Sanaa Foundation was born from the belief that ageing should never mean invisibility. Just as a tree thrives when nurtured, senior citizens flourish when they are acknowledged, cared for, and given purpose.
Our work exists to restore that care, connection, and dignity—so the golden years remain meaningful, respected, and full of life.
What We Do
Our initiatives are designed to support senior citizens holistically—addressing both care and contribution.
Our key focus areas include:
• Preventive healthcare and wellness programmes
• Emotional well-being, dignity, and mental health support
• Purposeful engagement and meaningful participation
• Access to essential support services
• Creating joyful, inclusive, and respectful environments for seniors
• Promoting financial awareness and responsible decision-making
Each programme is guided by empathy, experience, and the belief that seniors thrive when they remain engaged and valued.
What Makes Sanaa Foundation Different
At Sanaa Foundation, senior citizens are not seen only as beneficiaries—they are partners in progress.
Our approach is built on:
Participation over passive care
Engagement alongside support
Dignity before dependency
By enabling seniors to mentor, guide, and contribute, we foster mental well-being, self-worth, and continued relevance, while simultaneously strengthening communities through awareness and inclusion.
India’s Ageing Demographic
The Growing Senior Citizen Population in India
India’s demographic landscape is shifting rapidly, with the proportion and number of senior citizens (aged 60+) rising sharply. From about 149 million in 2022, this age group is projected to grow to over 220 million by the mid-2030s and to roughly 347 million—about one in five Indians—by 2050.
These shifts carry significant implications for healthcare, social security, and community support systems, making focused, compassionate, and sustainable senior-centric initiatives more important than ever.
